| I have the
best job in the world! I always wanted to be a teacher and fortunately,
I have been blessed with many wonderful years in the classroom.
My Bachelor of Science
degree in Early Childhood Education was earned from Brenau
University and
I have a Master of
Education degree in Curriculum and Technology Integration. I am state
certified in Georgia. Currently, I am completing my ESOL
endorsement and TESOL certification through Valdosta State University. I have taught Kindergarten,
2nd grade, and 3rd grade, and I tutor K through 6th
grades
after school. I believe learning needs to be authentic and meaningful to students, so in my classroom you will see differentiated instruction and integrated hands-on learning. I am a member of several professional organizations:
National Kindergarten Alliance, NAEYC (National Association for the
Education of Young Children), International Reading Association, and the Southern Early Childhood Association. My wonderful husband Joe and I have been married for 15 years. We have two beautiful children; a daughter, age 14 and a son, age 11. I also have three sweet Spaniels - 2 Cockers and 1 Brittany and a beautiful hunter/jumper Quarterhorse named Dino. We just love our fury kids! Currently, I am writing my second children's book with my daughter. She is an amazing artist/illustrator. My favorite activity is traveling! I have been to Europe multiple times and visited England, Germany, France, Austria, and Switzerland. I have also traveled to Costa Rica, Mexico, Canada, and the Bahamas. My mom is originally from Munich, Germany, so she has instilled in me the love for exploring other cultures. I hope to some day teach abroad and embark on both a personal and professional learning adventure. My other activities include watching baseball (especially my son playing travel ball), going to the movies, horseback riding, golfing, snow skiing, and working on my Website. MEET MRS. EVIE HARRIS |
